Tiny was either a cinnamon banded or a honey banded (we are not sure) female Syrian hamster. She is the first hamster we can find a picture of, and belonged to Lynne. She was given to her by a cousin who didn't want her. She was born in around 1970 (we are not sure) and died in about 1972.
She was called Tiny even though she was actually quite a large hamster! This is because she was smaller than Lynne's rabbit! She lived in quite a small cage, but spent a lot of out-time being cuddled, nursed and palyed with.
Tiny loved to sit on Lynne's head (see the picture!). She also enjoyed running on her wheel, and her favourite food was sunflower seeds. She inspired Lynne's love of hamsters and animals, which has persevered and grown until the present day. Lynne had many more childhood hamsters, though we have no pictures of these.
