Orcella was a longhaired dove banded female Syrian and Mansella was a longhaired golden banded female Syrian. They were both born in 1990, but Orcella died in 1991, and Mansella in 1992. They were bought from a Glasgow petshop.
Mansella was named after Nigel Mansell, the racing driver. Originally she was just called Mansell because she was thought to be a boy! Orcella was named after a type of racing car.
The pair were both very speedy, which fitted well with their names! They were probably sisters, and lived in side-by-side cages. They loved to sit and stare at each other through their cages, and their favourite food was oatmeal.
