We have had hamsters for a very long time. Lynne had them as a child, and introduced Iain to them. They have kept them ever since! They had several litters, both Syrian and Dwarf.
Anastasia has had them all through her childhood. She fell in love with them, and, after attending a local show, decided she would like to start showing them.
We have been showing hamsters for over 4 years now, and registered as Custard hamstery for a little less time.
Why Custard?
We chose the name 'Custard' for our hamstery because it has been a 'surname' that we have given to all of Anastasia's hamsters!
This is because of Anastasia's first hamster, Buffy. When we got Buffy we were told that her mother was called Rhubard and her father Custard, so, when wanting a surname, she became Buffy Custard! The name stuck, and all future hamsters were Custards too. Since we have always called our hams Custard as a 'surname', we decided it was an appropriate name for the Hamstery when we decided to set it up!
