She was born on 22st February 2006 and is the sister of Paws and Red.
Sonni first lived in a 2 leveled bar cage, but once Red moved out of her 3 level cage, we moved Sonni into this. However, we soon found out that she was quite an escape artist, and after two escapes we bought her a Gabber Lux (slightly smaller than the Gabber Rex).
Sonni loved to stuff her pouches to the brim, and wander around like that! She used to be a little nervous, although she had had as much taming as the rest, but was perfectly tame, although she had lots of 'furries', where, when she got a fright, she would run frantically around her cage! She had no food preference, and woul happily tuck into anything you give her!
Sonni was not really a show hamster, and, after repeatedly being told she 'did not have enough ticking', we decided to stop showing her and put her in the 'hamster racing' instead! She was quite good at this, and had made it to the semi-finals!
Sadly, Sonni passed away in her sleep on 6th February 2008. She was a lovely hamster, and always running happily around. She was such a sweetie, and loved her food. We do not think there was anything wrong with her, she just got quieter and more easily tired. We found her curled in her nest.
